• School Hours

    Full Day                8:45 AM - 3:15 PM
      Single Session       8:45 AM - 1:00 PM

    Arrival

Students should not arrive at the school grounds prior to 8:30 AM.  Supervision is not provided before this time.

    AM Drop Off (Arrival)

Parents who drop their child off at school have two viable options:

     1. You may park in the Speidel Avenue parking lot and walk your child across Speidel Avenue via the school crossing guard, or:

    2. You may use the “Drop Off” Procedure. Please line up your car on Speidel Avenue and drop your child off at the blacktop gate (students will exit the right side of the vehicle onto the sidewalk safely). Students will walk up to Gilbert Avenue, and enter the first gate (on Gilbert Avenue) onto the school property.

Students will congregate and be supervised on the rear blacktop before the rear school doors open at 8:30 a.m.

Cars will be permitted to drop off children starting at 8:20 a.m., supervised by staff stationed at the gate.

Students may not be dropped off in front of the school prior to 9 a.m.

    PM Pick-Up (Dismissal)

Parents who pick their child up from school at the end of the day may park in the Speidel Avenue parking lot, or park legally on the surrounding neighborhood streets. Parents are not permitted to park on Gilbert Avenue, directly in front of the school on the yellow-marked curbs. The Elmwood Park Police Department will ticket drivers who are parked illegally in front of the school.

Students in Kindergarten will be dismissed from the old front main entrance to a parent or guardian.

Students in Grades 1 and 2 will be dismissed from the exit located directly next to the new main entrance under the overhang to a parent or guardian.

Students in Grades 3, 4, and 5 will be dismissed out of the rear exits of the building to a parent or guardian, unless “walking permission” has been granted, and the appropriate form has been submitted to the homeroom teacher.

    Departure
Students should depart from school grounds immediately after dismissal time (3:15 PM) unless they are remaining for tutoring, detention, or participation in extracurricular activities.

    Excused/Early Departure
Students are not permitted to leave early except in an emergency. With prior approval of the principal, any student in need of early dismissal must present a note signed by a parent or guardian to the classroom teacher upon arrival to class (AM). The note must state the cause of the request. The parent or guardian must call for the student in the office of the principal. In the event someone other than a parent or guardian has parental permission to call for a student, that person must be prepared to show a driver's license to be photocopied by the school administration.
